Why do I want to participate in The 60 Day Challenge - The Return? There are a few reasons and the purpose of this hub is to outline my online business success time management goals. This hub will operate as my 60DC log. The glaringly obvious is if you are going to have an online business you need to be well versed in marketing and understand the workings of the Internet.
The 60DC put you amongst the community of well-versed professionals such as organizersunforged and fellow hubber wavegirl22. I am a huge believer that if you are going to do it, do it well. I also believe in taking responsibility and that means understanding how what you choose as your online business works and succeeds. You get out of it what you put into it.
Firstly to understand the motivation is to understand why I am writing in the first place. I have written much over the years but really have had no income or the audience one would expect from it. Secondly writing I find is a great way to express yourself, educate yourself and grow.
I have had some success with HubPages with a steady but not large traffic. I made the payout for Google after three months and seemed to attract a lot of fans. However something didn’t sit right with me. The time put in seemed incongruent to the rewards. I have had a very involved life, business career and sporting carrier and I value teams. I value family and friendship and indeed writing was a way for me pass my time when I am away from my family.
The Decider for the 60DC - Team
Thus for me time management goals are crucial for an online business success. It isn’t just about money, though if I want to do it for money then I think you have to be about making serious money. With those frustrating thoughts and then the shock of my hubscore dropping from 95 to 75 in three weeks and no satisfaction from the HubPages staff or some of the ridiculous self serving comments off the forums I was about to say ok that’s it for me. Indeed the reason I am doing the 60DC is to reverse that and learn all I can about the online business and about writing.
The reason I chose not to walk away is purely from the support of Shazwellyn and Wavegirl22 who reached out to me in my exasperation with HubPages. Wavegirl22 pointed out the strengths and weakness, what mattered and what didn’t. What she also showed me there is a community dwelling here that cares to help one another grow. Wavegirl22 also pointed me the way of englightenedsoul and sunforged and here I am. I am ready to learn, ready to be a team player and ready to achieve my goals.

My motivations are simple – freedom and independence.

- Freedom and independence to be achieved in terms of money and time.
- To become an expert in the workings of the media, writing and the Internet.

My Goals in the 60 Day Challenge at Hubpages
My goals for the 60DC are all inter-related with personal freedom and independence in mind. The ongoing world debt crisis and the ever ‘black swan’ event risk means you need to be independent. It also means you must be responsible for yourself and for those that rely on you. I have had a few black swan event s in my life and indeed to be prepared. Online business and media is one of the last great bastions to achieve your goals of business success in terms of time and money. So here we are!
My goals are:
- Understand Internet marketing – I mean understand
- Increase my traffic tenfold in the 60 days
- Increase my income from the online business and affiliates fivefold in the 60DC and from there exponentially
- Develop a strong interacted team to share and build with the 60DC
- Improve my writing
- Maintain and develop effective time management goals

I am an admirer of yours and I have no doubt you will fulfill your goals, Billy.
You have done a remarkable job so far. Just keep it up.
Oh one thing I forgot. I was in a meeting the other day and I was so passionate about my work as a Scientist it opened a way to revisit an old proposal.
The proposal was three years old. I had a chance to meet someone who could pave the way to getting it realized.
I did not have enough time to update the figures but the proposal is solid in terms of concepts, and it was truly fantastic that my meeting was supposed to only be for 30 minutes and lasted 75 minutes. He had to catch a plane back to his home office.
In terms of the dream, I have had it since graduate school.
That day last week was amazing. It reminded me of an old dream.
The point, never abandon your dreams. You can set them aside, as I did, but you never know when the right person, event, symphony of circumstances would give birth to it.
For me, the timing was perfect. My son goes to school next week. I do not feel lonely in that sense, it is no more than I am used to doing the job of three people or four people with respect to bringing him up.
I wish for you only that which is the best.

I was unaware of a 60 day challenge. I did do the 30 hubs in 30 days once and it certainly kept me busy! Will have to check it out and see the particulars...
Question...is it smart to follow anyone and everyone who wants to follow on tweet? Some people put so much into it...like multiple entries every hour...that anyone else's entries would not ever be noticed. I quit following one person because of that and now I am leary before allowing others. What is your opinion? Off topic, I know...but I would appreciate your thoughts on the subject.

On Twitter I think you have to look to see who is following you - do you know them? Do they have similar interests and are they retweeting you? I have been spammed many times there and tend to follow those that follow me if I know them from HubPages Redgage etc or when I look at them they are just not trying to flog me something! ??? My hub to be what? I am assuming you want hubs to be noticed therefore you do not want someone with 3 or 4 entries every hour on the hour. Correct?
As to the hubchallenge...going to REALLY try and bone up on much of what you guys will be talking about and learning starting with keyword research, analytics, etc. I never got approved by Ebay and I have never gotten a check from Amazon so have started deleting those ads from my hubs. OBVIOUSLY I have a few things to learn!

Peggy I am sorry when I copied and pasted the comments from the old hub I missed the last line. That should read you want your hubs to be seen by as many people as you can but not as spam. Well there is two ways of looking at it the more you tweet the more likely people you don't know it may be interested - but not too many it is spam. I hear what you are saying if there is too many in those you follow then people following you may miss yours. If you think they are hurting you - chunk them IMHO. If they annoy you chunk them for sure :)

Billy, welcome indeed. Family and friends are our motivation. Let's hope that, at the end of this challenge, we find ourselves, all of us, considering each and every one of us to be friends and a family of hubbers.
