iPhone OS - Latest Mobile Phones Multitasking Operating System

The iPhone latest mobile phones with multitasking operating system have broken all sales records. The iPhone OS 4 is the fourth major release of the iPhone’s operating system software and was announced on April 9 2010. This was just one week after the Apple iPad release. The iPhone latest mobile phones announced multitasking and encryption for email. Each new Apple iPhone operating system OS has seen the evolution of the iPhone.  The iPhone 4 is not just a mobile phone. It is a handheld computer, the latest generation iPod, a web browser, a hand held note taker and organizer and a digital camera. 

Significantly it is the third release since the iPhone OS platform App Store was introduced. At WWDC 2010 Apple announced that iPhone OS 4 had been renamed iOS 4. Apple released iOS 4 on June 21, 2010 and three days later they released iPhone 4.0.  Apple released iOS 4.0.1 to fix iPhone 4 antenna issues on July 15, 2010. iOS 4 works with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G. However the iPhone latest mobile phones multitasking operating system is available only with iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.The software’s simplicity and intuitiveness remain Apple’s strength. 

The iPhone OS 3 is the basis for the new Apple iPad OS. Apple has announced iPad users with 3.x software receive a free upgrade to the next major 4.x release. The evolution of iPhone OS 4 sees an amazing selection of applications.  Apple’s App Store had more than 225,000 applications for iOS available on June 7, 2010. Expect further iPhone OS enhancements once the iPad 4.x hits. The iPhone OS 4 is only available for the iPhone not multiple handset manufactures.

OS 3.x

iPhone OS 3.x has been available since June 2009 with Sync and Patcher upgrades available. iPhone OS 3.x does support jail breaking and rooting.

iPhone OS 3.x has multitouch interface but no multitasking. However iPhone 4.0 doesl have multi tasking.

iPhone OS 3.x does have syncing software.

Safari is the browser for iPhone OS 3.x with WebKit

iPhone OS 4.0 Released

Apple released iOS 4 on June 21, 2010. Three days later Apple released iPhone 4.0. After much controversy over an antenna reception issue Apple released iOS 4.0.1. The upgrade to fix the iPhone 4 antenna issue was released on July 15, 2010. The new iOS 4 works with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G. It should be understood that the iPhone latest mobile phones multitasking operating system is available only with iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

Apple released an upgrade to iOS 4 on July 15, 2010,  iOS 4.0.1 to fix iPhone 4 antenna issues. The update Apple said is to ‘improve the formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G. Apple also noted that the real signal strength of the antenna remains the same. However 'the bars on iPhone will indicate it more precisely.‘

iPod Touch Update

• At the time of the upgrade of iOS 4 Apple also announced that the iOS 4 is a free upgrade on the iPod touch.
• This is the first time Apple has done this for free. Apple previously charged $9.99 for OS upgrades.

iPad Update

Apple also released iOS 3.2.1 for the iPad. This version includes the following upgrades.

• Adjustments to the iPad's WiFi connectivity,
• Improved video playback for the iPad
• Enabled copy-and-paste functionality for PDF attachments.
